In the back of the plan is a mudroom (above) that enables the occupants to unload groceries brought in from the detached garage, which is separated from the house by a trellised pool area and garden (below), before taking the elevator to the third-level kitchen.

Just inside the entry, a foyer lit by a glass bridge above splits off into a step-down home theater and a two-story home-office alcove.
The street-level plan also offers two secondary bedrooms that share a bath, with one of the rooms providing access to the pool deck.
SHOWER TOWER: The Waterhaven custom shower tower from Kohler, featuring four adjustable body sprays, two heads, and a handheld shower, highlights the company's full line of products in the shared bathroom. Dal-Tile supplied the matte- and gloss-finished, textured tiles from its Glass Reflections and Urban Metals lines over a bonded, watertight pan-and-drain assembly for tiled showers from Schluter Systems that connects to the drain at the top of the pan assembly rather than below it. USG's Fiberock Aqua-Tough gypsum panels provide a durable tile substrate for the shower walls.
OPEN BAR: A well-appointed wet bar set in the hallway is accessible from every room on the main level, making it easy to keep refreshments handy for a home-office worker, movie-watchers in the theater, pool users, and overnight guests.

Standard Pacific released first-quarter earnings post market close last night that beat Wall Street analysts' posted predictions. After a near brush with death in 2008, and life-support from MatlinPatterson's real estate funds, Standard Pacific's strategic, operational, and tactical planning and execution are playing well in what continues to be an adverse market environment in most of its competitive arenas.
